Puerto Galera liveaboard. Diving on the Rags Two liveaboard from Puerto Galera.
Your flight to Manila International airport is followed by a leisurely 2 hour transfer and a one hour boat journey to a diving Utopia.
A history involving Spanish Galleons dates as far back as the early 1700’s – in fact Puerto Galera translates to Port of the Galleons – which it certainly was ! We also have some very interesting modern wrecks to dive nowadays.
With excellent value in local resorts and superb marine diversity, it really is a diving paradise. A day or two getting over any jet lag with excellent local diving, provides a chance to shake-down that long stored dive gear and prepare for some hard core liveaboard dives.
Our liveaboard diving from Puerto galera.
Rags II is our purpose built Philippines Liveaboard which has been operating out of Puerto Galera for the past seven years. She’s built in the local “Banka”style with outriggers for stability and providing a very stable diving platform.
We accommodate 8 divers in 4 twin berth A/C cabins and are very proud of our unblemished diving record.
We operate a safe and reliable service to Apo Reef, Coron WWII wrecks, El Nido in Palawan – as well as tailored diving safaris almost anywhere in the Philippines.
We also have great food on our Puerto Galera Liveaboard.
We also pride ourselves on our offering of a full A la Carte menu onboard, we believe no other Philippines Liveaboard offers this service, and with over 50 dishes available you will surely be spoilt for choice onboard.
Choices of Liveaboards in the Philippines is quite limited, and currently Rags II is the only boat operating out of Puerto Galera throughout the year. Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) passed to the south of Puerto Galera in 2013, and caused little damage to either the local community or the marine environment, but left a trail of devastation elsewhere. Luckily our favourite dive sites are still in pristine condition – and waiting here for you.
Technical diving courses too while on our Liveaboard dive boat from Puerto Galera.
Rags II is also set up for technical diving with twin-sets, stage / deco tanks are also available if required. Nitrox is available to 30% and included in the price you pay. Rebreather divers can also be accommodated with Sofnolime also to hand locally.
After your memorable safari diving onboard Rags II the return to Puerto Galera is an overnight passage with breakfast onboard before your departure, A few additional days spent in Puerto Galera are an excellent way to wind down before your long journey home.
We don't just have scuba diving in Puerto Galera, we have lots more.
Puerto Galera also has some great non-diving activities such as Golf, Shooting, Fishing, Quad biking – as well as local scenic attractions.
We’re sure you will want to come back and see the local wonders another time, and find even more treasures diving in the Philippine archipelago.
